Brussels / Prague, 20 May 2026 – WEDOS, in cooperation with the Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the European Union, organized an expert discussion focused on the resilience of European digital infrastructure against large-scale cyber and DDoS threats. The meeting, called Defending Europe’s Digital Backbone, took place on 19 May 2026 in Brussels.
The event focused on practical protection of digital services, public-private cooperation in cybersecurity, and the need to build European solutions operated from Europe. The discussion was attended by representatives of the public sector, technology partners, and organizations active in digital infrastructure and cyber resilience.
“DDoS attacks are no longer only a technical problem of individual websites. They can affect services on which companies, cities, institutions, and citizens depend. Europe therefore needs its own protection infrastructure, operated in Europe and built on real operational experience,” said Josef Grill, founder and CEO of WEDOS.
At the meeting, WEDOS presented its experience with operating WEDOS Global Protection, a service that protects websites, applications, APIs, and other online services against DDoS attacks, malicious traffic, and automated attacks. The service uses the WEDOS Global infrastructure, built on WEDOS’ own servers located in strategic locations in Europe and around the world.
An important part of WEDOS’ European strategy is also its cooperation with POST Luxembourg / DEEP. In the Luxembourg market, DEEP implements WEDOS Global Protection for companies and organizations that require high availability, security, and operational resilience. The solution is presented as a European managed DDoS protection service operated from Luxembourg.
“Cooperation with partners such as POST Luxembourg / DEEP is essential for us. For European customers, the public sector, and critical infrastructure, technology alone is not enough. Trust, local operational support, service background, and knowledge of the regulatory environment are also very important,” added Josef Grill.
The meeting in Brussels follows WEDOS’ long-term strategy to develop a European security and infrastructure platform. The company wants to further strengthen cooperation with telecom operators, cloud providers, the public sector, security teams, and critical infrastructure operators.
